The Lookout Logs is a serialized fiction podcast from Meatbag Made. It is presented as a documentary research project, and this website is written as if it belongs to the show’s host. The places and the history are real. The people and the story are invented.
The host’s voice is synthetic
Drew Silva is a fictional character, and his voice is generated with AI. Every other voice in the show belongs to a real person performing a role.
Fictional people, real places
All characters and organizations in the story are fictional. Nothing in the show describes the actions of any real person, agency, or business. The real history in each episode is researched, and each log entry lists its sources.
The show’s invented myth is our own. It does not draw on the sacred stories or oral traditions of the Indigenous peoples of the Cascades.
Sound and music
Every sound in the show is a real recording. The score is composed by Kevin Sotka.
Your messages and your email address
If you leave a message on The Line, the recording and your email address are stored privately by Meatbag Made. A recording may be played in the show, edited, or used to shape the story, and we will email you before we use it. Anyone whose recording goes into an episode is asked to sign a release first. Messages that name real living people or real businesses are not used in the story.
If you sign up for updates, we use your address only to send a note when a new log is posted. Every note has a way to unsubscribe. We don’t sell or share addresses.
To have a recording or your address deleted, write to hello@meatbagmade.com.
